#23 Is this really the end? Or just the beginning ...

AAAHHHH!!! I made it.
Well favourites sites. I can't say that I have any stand outs. There were many things that I thought were good like LibraryThing.
How the the program assisted or affected my life. Well it certainly added more stress to my life at times when I was already trying to keep up with deadlines for other study I've been doing at the same time.
Take aways or unexpected outcomes. Well I thought, yeah I'll play with this stuff and have a bit of a look, but I must say that I already have a few customers in mind to recommend some of the things I have looked at during this exercise.
As PinkLil said in a previous blog that Zoho.com is certainly useful and will be recommended to customers. I will be doing the same because we too don't have Office Word on our public PCs as yet. Also I have a few customers in mind to recommend LibraryThing to because I know they do a fair bit of online searching for books and are avid readers.

My final word on computers, Learning 2.0 and ever changing technologies.

I'm going bush and becoming a hermit!

#22 Audiobooks (or "The end is in sight ")

Well I must say I was impressed with the World Ebook Fair Site and will have a look at that again in the future.

21. Discover some useful search tools for locating podcasts.

I am already a bit familiar with podcasts as I currently listen to the Get This radio program with Tony Martin (D Generation and Late Show fame) on Triple Smegheads. So named because the show is axed at the end of the month. Anyway, I did have a look at the other podcast directories and no I didn't add anything to my bloglines account because there was nothing that caught my attentiona and the one that did had no feed.

I will explore more in the future when time permits.

SSSHHH! Quiet please in the Muppet Library!

#20 You too can YouTube

Being a dog lover I couldn't resist looking up dog videos on YouTube. I found this clever little dog that reminds me of Wishbone. If anyone can remember the US kids show call Wishbone that had a little supersleuth dog.

I don't mind YouTube and can see some good use for it. I noticed that some other libraries did post some serious stuff on YouTube and this could be a valuable to other libraries around the world to get ideas. Maybe share training or promotional videos.

I don't use YouTube a great deal and the only time I really use it is when I hear someone talking about a particular clip I maybe interested in, then I'll have a look.
Otherwise one downside I can see with sites like YouTube is that it's a good time wasting tool. But then I suppose that's sometimes why people look at YouTube, to waste time instead of doing other things.

#19 Discovering Web 2.0 tools

Hey, I've found something I like. I had a look at the awards. I wasn't interested in anything in particular so I was just going to pick anything at random when I saw something called Guess-The-Google. It's in the Games section. I thought it had something to do with the guy who does the different Google logos for significant dates. It didn't, what you do is look at 20 montages of images that actually appear when doing google searches and you have to guess what word you would use as a Google search term to find those images shown. For example, one montage had wind turbines and other things that appeared to be blowing in the wind so I guessed the search term to be the word wind and it was correct.

It's just a fun little guessing game to have a go at and to try to beat the clock because you are timed on each guess.

Also I think the directory is very good and I liked the fact that when you move your mouse over one of the images in the directory it shows a little summary.
